Physical Custody and  Visitation

Physical custody is the time your child spends living with each parent.

Visitation is awarded when the children live with one parent and the other parent is awarded visitation time with the children.

This is different than a joint physical custody arrangement in that the children spend a significant amount of time with each parent, but not
necessarily equal time.

There are several custody and visitation types of arrangements.  However, the final arrangements will be specific and will be part of your
Parenting Plan.

Your schedule will include:

  • The residential schedule showing weekday and weekend parenting time.

  • The holiday schedules showing major holidays, school holidays, the child's birthday, Mother's Day,  Father's Day, etc.

  • The summer break schedule showing how the winter, spring, summer, and other vacations from school will be spent
